Great Holiday House
This is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. It’s a newly built house with the rooms well designed to make best use of the views from the plot of land it has been built on. The house was very warm, we were there in March, and with the addition of the gas fire in the living room we had the option of extra heating in the evenings. The house it a short walk (about 15 mins) from one of two local beaches. The closer beach has step access from the cliff top and the other flat access from a car parking area. It is possible also to enjoy a walk from one of the beaches to the other at low tide and then walk back via the cliff top taking about 2 to 3 hours to do the round trip. The owners were very helpful in supplying extra items to meet the needs of our 18 month grandchild which allowed us all to sit around the large kitchen table for family meals. We visited the local restaurant Auberge du Relais for an excellent Sunday meal, having booked before we left the UK as it was for a special celebration for one of our party. The local patisserie a 5 minute walk away in Varengeville-Sur-Mer supplied all our breakfast needs with plenty of fresh french bread and the occasional patisserie, for later in the day, if you have a sweet tooth. The property was very clean and as we also hired linen it made the return home easier as it cut down on the amount of washing. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit this area of Normandy and needing a property with four bedrooms.
Pleasant house in a lovely area
A group of us stayed at this property in August 2014. We were a group of 9 people including adults and teenagers. I would definitely recommend the house and the area. The house is a new build on a big plot of land that is enclosed with a fence so it is good for small children. But it was also good for my teenagers who played (soft-ball) cricket and football. The house is really big and has 5 good size bedrooms. The lounge is massive and was brilliant for family games of scrabble and trivial pursuit. It also has a massive kitchen that is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The house is decorated to a very high standard, with lots of windows that let in so much light. It was very clean and new so if you are expecting an old french farmhouse this is not for you. I have stayed in old fashioned houses before and learned that the inside can let them down. This is why I went for a new house. I especially wanted good beds to sleep in and we definitely got that: everyone in the family commented that the beds were so comfortable and the area is very quiet at night so you get a brilliant sleep. We had quite bad weather while we were there but the house is so amazingly warm. Even though it was a bit chilly outside we did not need the heating or the fire on. The area is very suave and sophisticated. The village has all amenities you require: a small supermarket, a boulangerie, a butchers, a pharmacy, a newspaper shop with English newspapers. The area has lots of beautiful gardens. We also booked tennis courts and went for a very exciting canoe ride. Highly recommend!
Great house, wonderful location
Our short stay in Varengeville sur Mer was perfect. It was arranged at short notice to coincide with our daughter and granddaughter visiting from Hong Kong. We did not want a long journey time which made the driving very easy, only 25minutes from our home in Hove to Newhaven , 4 hours on the ferry and 15 minutes drive from Dieppe.
The house was very roomy and comfortable and as we were a group of 5 , we had more than enough space. It was very clean and thoughtfully designed.
The owner responded promptly to emails, helpful and very friendly.
We loved the location with all the amenities on the doorstep including the Auberge for lovely meals or a snack.
The patisserie supplied fresh bread and croissants and also mouth-watering pastries !
The surrounding area is delightful for walking or cycling . Only a short drive away are charming seaside towns like Veules les Roses.
We had the added excitement of seeing the Tour de France pass through the village .
We were really sorry to leave after such a relaxing , enjoyable holiday . We will certainly be returning !
Several friends have shown great interest in the property and asked for the link
address.
